Orange Hat Patrols are groups of citizens, often in the company of police officers, who walk the neighborhood for about an hour. They pick up trash, note any missing signs or burned out streetlights, and provide a visible presence for concerned residents in the area.

There currently are three weekly PSA 102 Orange Hat groups. One meets on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. in front of the Stuart Hobson School to walk around PSA 102. Another meets at 6 p.m. every Friday evening in front of the J.O. Wilson School at the corner of 7th and K Street NE.

Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. at Stuart-Hobson’s main entrance, 400 block of E St. NE. Contact Roger Mattioli at roger.mattioli@verizon.net or Kim Matthews at 202-543-4653 or email her at ki.matthews@verizon.net.

Thursdays at 7 p.m. in front of JO Wilson School at 7th and K St. NE. Contact Brandon Bies at 202-543-2046.

Fridays at 7 p.m. in front of JO Wilson School at 7th and K St. NE. Contact Daniel Pernell at 202-421-2001.
